1:250 000 Scale National Soil Data
The National Soil Map was published in 1982 and represents the first complete soils coverage of Scotland.
The map is based on fieldwork, using 1:50 000 scale maps and air photograph interpretation, between 1978 and 1981 and incorporates earlier soil surveys undertaken in the lowlands and foothills which are published at 1:63 360 or 1:50 000 scale. The datasets are in raster and vector format from a digitised version of the published paper soil maps.
